How To Connect
To be able to connect you need a wireless LAN card, available at all good PC shops. You must be able to physically see the transmitting node and you need to be (usually) within 1Km of the mast. If you are further than 1km away you can still connect but you will require a Directional aerial that can increase the range usually between 3 > 10km. We can carry out a site survey for you (at no charge) to determine if you can access the network from your location.

If you want to use NewryWAN inside a building and can’t see the antenna through a window you will almost certainly need an aerial. Aerials need specialised cables to connect to the card and your Wireless LAN card will need to be of a type that has a small socket for an external aerial connection.

Once you have successfully obtained a signal from another node we will allocate you IP addresses depending on what services you require. This is your 'address' on the NewryWAN network. Our IP address range is 10.9.x.x.

Once connected you can access services run by other people on the network and direct high speed access to the internet. All you have to do is enter your name and email address above and click the SUBMIT button and we'll get back to you with more info !
